Jean Pascal: "Bute? The Problem
Is
Not His Right Hand, But His Confidence"

MONTRÉAL - Jean Pascal is not afraid of controversy. In his
Twitter site Friday afternoon, the former WBC light
heavyweight champion of the world said InterBox has lied on
the Lucian Bute's medical file. “I am sure that the Bute's
right hand injury is a lie,” said Pascal. “InterBox has
pretended that Bute got bone fragments in the ring hand, but
I got information indicating he stopped his training in
April in Miami for another reason. The real reason,
apparently, is that Bute has been hurt seriously by his
sparring partner, the Texan Chris Henry. The problem with
Bute is not his hands, but his head. He has no more
confidence in himself. And a fighter with no confidence in
himself has no chin anymore. I really think Bute believes in
his head he is a boxer totally finished.”
Bute, the former IBF super middleweight champion of the
world, was supposed to fight Pascal (27-2-1) May 25th at
Bell Centre in Montréal, but he stopped his training in
April. At that moment, InterBox mentioned he got serious
pain in the right hand. Few days after, InterBox mentioned
that Bute got a surgery to extract bone's fragments.
Bute (31-1-0) lost his IBF world title to the British Carl
Froch (31-2-0) May 26th 2012 in Nottingham, England, in
losing by TKO in less than five rounds. Last November, Bute
made a comeback at Bell Centre, but a deceiving one. He won
a close decision against the Russian Denis Grachev (12-1-1).
Bute mentioned several times he hopes to fight Pascal
December 7th or January 25th in Montréal, to close his
mouth…
If Pascal face Bute in December or January, the fight will
certainly be a sold out in Montréal.
