Chris Pearson Is Ready For A
New Challenge

Twenty-two-year-old Chris Pearson is always ready to fight,
and he has his biggest moment in his professional career
coming up in a little more than two weeks. Pearson is on the
undercard of the Floyd Mayweather / Canelo Alvarez card. He
gets to apply his craft under the glitz and glimmer that is
Las Vegas, as well as getting television time.
While there is still no opponent named, Chris is on the card
for sure. And while most fighters will say that it doesn’t
matter who is in the ring with them, it is also acknowledged
in the next breath that it helps to know.
“Of course it
helps, that’s boxing 101,” Pearson said. “To
have an opponent and be able to break down his
mistakes and prepare for him, then you have an
advantage. But me being so fresh off the
amateurs, I’m used to not knowing who I’m
fighting until the day of, so even when they
tell me my opponent a few days before the fight
I still feel that I’ve got a bigger advantage
than normal. I’m so used to finding out the day
of in the amateurs.
“I just do what I have to do in the gym to stay
prepared,” he continued. “These types of
opportunities are what I look forward to. I’m
thankful, but I’m not surprised. I’ve prepared
for these types of opportunities, so the fact
that it’s here just lets me know that I’m
getting close to where I’m trying to be – a
world champion! So whomever they find for me to
fight, I’ll be ready.”
Pearson is listed at 8-0 with 7 knockouts; an
undefeated fighter who likes to stay busy and is
looking forward to his next test in the sport.
He fought six times last year and prefers it
that way, but has only been in the ring once in
2013. Fights that were planned just never
happened and the time ticked by. But as he said,
he always stays busy and prepared. |

“I just want people to
stay tuned, because I’ve got some good things coming,”
Chris said in closing.
With this fight slated for TV, everyone will get to see
Pearson apply his craft. He has always been friendly and
accessible; confident but not arrogant. Hopefully this
fight helps open more doors for him and let’s the fans
get a better look at his talents.
