Colton’s Artemio Reyes (20-2, 15KOs) KOs Mexico’s Sergio Perez (28-15, 19KOs) in round three of the scheduled eight round welterweight main event. Perez first tasted the canvas early in round number three.

The pudgy pugilist was able to make referee’s Raul Caiz Jr. standing eight count and the fight continued its natural trajectory. Reyes quickly followed up with a pristine left hook to Perez’s torso. The hook crippled Perez and forced Raul Caiz Jr. to call the fight 1 minute 39 seconds into round number three.

Artemio Reyes’, 26, victory came in the main event of Thompson Promotion’s boxing series “Locked ‘N Loaded,” at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA. Reyes was in control from the opening bell. It’s safe to say that Perez never really stood a chance.

Jolene Blackshear Defeats Sindy Amador; Captures Interim WIBA Title

Jolene Blackshear (8-3, 4KOs) captured the Women’s International Boxing Association light flyweight tile tonight by out pointing Riverside’s Sindy Amador (10-1, 1KO) in her backyard. Jolene Blackshear dropped Sindy Amador once in each of the final two rounds of the eight round war. The final knockdown came by way of a vicious left hook. The blow floored Sindy Amador and in the process shocked all in attendance. After all, the fight fans in Ontario had never seen Amador in such peril.

The partisan Sindy Amador never really fought her fight. She typically overpowers her foe with sheer aggression. Tonight, she chose to box. The latter allowed Jolene Blackshear’s overhand right to land unattended several times. Amador had her moments, but Blackshear’s power profoundly effected the bout in the final two stanza’s.

San Diego’s Jolene Blackshear, 43, rightfully won the interim WIBA belt in the final two rounds. This was evident in the judge’s scorecards. Only Judge Gwen Adair scored the bout for Amador with a score of 76-74, Judge’s Marty Denkin and Pat Conolly scored alike, 76-74, for Blackshear.

Alex Theran Outclasses Juan Rojas Through 6

Colombia’s Alex Theran (14-0, 8KOs) scored a unanimous decision victory against Mexico’s Juan Carlos Rojas (5-6, 4KOs) in a six round super middleweight scrap. Theran counterpunched masterfully. He got tagged from time to time but he always found a way to counter Rojas’ reckless aggression.

All three judges scored the bout alike, 60-54 for Alex Theran.

Jorge Ruiz Decisions Alex Reyes

Jorge Ruiz (2-0, 1KO) earned a hard fought unanimous decision victory by outclassing Alex Reyes (0-3) through four rounds in the super bantamweight division.

Judge Marty Denkin scored the fight a draw 38-38, while Gwen Adair and Pat Conolly scored the bout 40-36, 39-37 respectively.

Ralph Lopez Stops German Valdez

Riverside’s Ralph Lopez (7-1, 6KOs) knocks out German Valdez (2-1, 1KO) with a flurry of blows. The partisan fighter floored German Valdez with a crushing right hook in round one. Valdez survived the knockdown; albeit, he would not withstand Lopez’s pressure.

Mexico’s found himself in trouble early in round number two. Ralph Lopez landed another clean right hook in round two. The blow left German Lopez out on his feet. Soon there after, Referee Raul Caiz Jr. stepped in and halted the bout 29 seconds into round number two.
