Stevenson & Cloud:
Perfect Weights At 30 Days Before The Fight

MONTRÉAL - Yvon Michel, the promoter of the GYM Group, has
confirmed that Adonis Stevenson and Tavoris Cloud have
posted perfect weights Wednesday for the 30 days WBC
mandatory weigh in. The new WBC light heavyweight champion
of the world, Stevenson, a southpaw from Montréal, has
posted a weight of 186 pounds in Detroit, versus 188 for
Cloud in Florida. Cloud is living in Tallahassee, Florida.
The WBC is requiring a first weigh in 30 days before the
fight, a second one seven days before the bout, and the
official weigh in is hwld the day before the event. For this
first weigh in, Stevenson (21-1-0) and Cloud (24-1-0) were
obliged to be under 193 pounds. The limit for the seven day
weigh in will be 184 pounds, and obviously, the limit will
be 175 pounds the day before the bout.
Stevenson will fight Cloud September 28th at Bell Centre in
Montréal, and this bout will be televised by HBO. Stevenson
became WBC light heavyweight champion of the world June 8th
in Montréal, in beating the veteran Chad Dawson (31-3-0) by
TKO in the first round. Cloud, on his side, lost his IBF
crown to the veteran Bernard Hopkins (53-6-2) March 9th in
Brooklyn, New York, in losing by unanimous decision in 12
rounds.
