Stevenson Could Fight Cloud &
Bellew This Year

MONTRÉAL - Yvon Michel, the promoter of Adonis Stevenson,
and Ed Hearn, the promoter of Tony Bellew, have decided to
make a agreement to avoid a purse bid scheduled by the WBC.
Stevenson, a Montrealer who is the new WBC light heavyweight
champion of the world, and Bellew, a British who is the
mandatory challenger for this crown, will meet this year,
probably in December.
But, as agreed, Stevenson (21-1-0) can defend his crown
against the American Tavoris Cloud (24-1-0) September 28th
in Montréal. Obviously, Stevenson has to stay champion to
face Bellew at the end of the year. Stevenson has no
objection to fight twice before the end of the year.
Stevenson (20-1-0) caused a real commotion on the
international scene June 8th at Bell Centre in Montréal, in
dethroning Chad Dawson (32-3-0) with a spectacular win by
TKO in the first round.
On his side, Bellew (20-1-1) won a decisive WBC elimination
bout May 25th in London, two hours before the rematch
Froch-Kessler, in beating the South African Issac Chilemba
(20-2-0) by unanimous decision
