Stevenson-Froch Soon?

MONTRÉAL - The GYM Group will meet the journalists Friday
morning at the office of the company and apparently, Yvon
Michel could confirm that the IBF super middleweight
champion of the world, the British Carl Froch, is obliged to
fight the Montrealer southpaw Adonis Stevenson at his next
bout.
The promoter Ed Hearn, who is managing Carl Froch (30-2-0),
was close to confirm a rematch between his fighter and the
Danish Mikkel Kessler (46-2-0) in England, but, apparently,
the IBF wants to have a world championship fight between
Froch and Stevenson before the end of the spring.
According some sources, Froch could accept to fight
Stevenson in April, and postpone the rematch with Kessler
next fall. Yvon Michel, the promoter of the GYM Group, will
comment the situation Friday morning with Stevenson, the
first contender of the IBF title. Yvon Michel, apparently,
had a long conversation with Hearn Thursday afternoon.
Froch became IBF world champion May 26th in Nottingham, in
beating the Montrealer southpaw Lucian Bute (31-1-0) by TKO
in less than five rounds. Froch lost by unanimous decision
to Kessler in the Showtime Super Six tournament in 2010.
Stevenson (19-1-0) mentioned recently he is ready now to
face all the big names of the super middleweight division,
at the condition that a major world title is involved.
October 12th at Bell Centre in Montréal, Stevenson won an
IBF elimination bout in stopping the American Donovan George
(23-3-1) in the 12th round.
