Stevenson Honored By The WBC

MONTRÉAL - The WBC has confirmed to the promoter Yvon
Michel, the leader of the GYM Group, that Adonis Stevenson
has been named its fighter of the month of July on the
international level June 8th at Bell Centre in Montréal, the
southpaw from Montréal caused a real commotion on the boxing
international scene, in beating the veteran American fighter
Chad Dawson (32-2-0) by TKO in the first round.
Stevenson (21-1-0) dethroned Dawson as WBC light heavyweight
champion of the world. It was by far the worst defeat Dawson
got in in career. Stevenson should fight the former IBF
champion, Tavoris Cloud (24-1-0), at the end of September in
Montréal.
