Kevin Bizier: "This Rematch Is
The
Most Important Fight Of My Career"

QUÉBEC CITY, Canada - Kevin Bizier, a welterweight from
Québec City, was not perfectly happy during the last year.
He never digested his first lost in pro boxing, happened
November 30th in front of his fans at the Québec City
Colisée, against the Montrealer Romanian southpaw Jo Jo Dan.
After 12 rounds of intense action, Dan won by split
decision, a verdict booed longly by the crowd. Friday
evening at the Colisée, just before the WBC light
heavyweight championship on the world opposing the
Montrealer southpaw Adonis Stevenson (24-1-0) and the
Russian Dmitry Sukhotsky (22-2-0), Bizer will get his
rematch with Dan, but this time, the fight will me more
important than the first time. It will be an IBF elimination
bout for the 147 pounds world championship.
“This rematch is certainly the most important fight on my
career, said Bizier. In taking my revenge on Jo Jo Dan, I
will win a participation to an IBF world championship in
2015. Trust me, I am mentally and physically prepared to win
it. Last year, Dan beat me according two of the three
judges, but it was very questionable. I really thought I won
that bout. But this time, believe me, I will do the
necessary to be sure no doubt will subsist in the fans
minds… and in the judges minds, I was fighting very
aggressively last year against Dan, and it was a bad
strategy. I will fight more intelligently this time. I
missed too many punches in the first fight, missed many
opportunities to hurt Dan by lack of patience, and made too
many mistakes in defense. This time, you will see, I will be
me more crafty, more concentrate and faster. I learned so
much from my first deception in pro boxing, even if I
thought I won it. Friday, it will be the perfect time to get
a perfect fight. Never in my career have I been involved in
a fight so significant.”
In matter fact, the IBF championship committee confirmed
that this rematch is an elimination bout for the 147 pounds
world championship. “It’s clear in my mind, I want ma chance
for a world title in 2015, said Bizier. I know I have now
the experience and the maturity to face the cream of the
division. Jo Jo Dan is considered as one of the top
welterweights in the world, then, in beating him clearly, I
will prove I am ready for a world title.”
Jo Jo Dan also is considering he got a great preparation for
this big challenge. “I was really prepared the first time I
faced Bizier, and I am in better shape than ever now, said
Dan. I know what I have to do to dominate again Kevin, and I
will do it. Its crucial fight for me like for him. I am sure
the fight will be again extremely intense and spectacular.”
Dan, who is the IBF first contender, has a record of 33-2-0,
and it’s 23-1-0 for Bizier, who is ranked fourth. The IBF
welterweight champion of the world is the British Kell
Brook, a fighter from Sheffield who has a perfect record of
33-0-0.
