Kevin Bizier: "I Really Hope
To Face Kell Brook In 2016"

QUÉBEC CITY, Canada - Kevin Bizier, a welterweight from
Québec City actually ranked 10th contender by the IBF,
watched on TV the fight between the British Kell Brook and
the Montrealer southpaw Jo Jo Dan disputed last week-end in
Sheffield, England.
Logical because December 19th in the ring of the Québec City
Colisée, Dan (34-3-0) won an IBF elimination bout against
Bizier (23-2-0), by split decision. Brook (34-0-0) destroyed
Jo Jo Dan. He floored him twice in the first round, twice in
the fourth round, and the Dan’s conner men threw the towel
at the end of the fourth.
“I really hope to face Brook in 2016, said Bizier Thursday
at the Château Bonne Entente, at the undercard final press
conference. But to force Brook to face me, I will need to
win all my next bouts and improve my position in the
ratings. Jo Jo Dan? He did not fight logically against
Brook. He was not using his jab and he was unable to block
the Brook’s long power shots. I am positive I have the style
to do against Brook what Dan failed to do. I am sure I would
give to Brook a solid opposition with the way I am
fighting.”
Then, Bizier got to score his 24th pro wins Saturday
afternoon in the ring of the Québec City Colisée. Right
after the main event, the WBC light heavyweight championship
of the world opposing the Montrealer southpaw Adonis
Stevenson (25-1-0) and Sakio Bika (32-6-3), a boxer from
Cameron living in Australia, Bizier will face the French
Fouad El Massoudi (12-4-0) in a 10 rounds bout.
“Massoudi has the reputation to be intense and tough, then,
I am ready mentally and physically for a tough bout, said
Bizier. For sure, like I told you, I cannot afford a lost if
I want to fight Brook in a IBF world championship bout in
2016.”
Just before the semi-final opposing the Montrealer Russian
Artur Beterbiev (7-0-0) and the former WBA light heavyweight
champion of the world, the Spanish Gabriel Campillo
(25-6-1), the crowd will assist to welterweight fight
between Julian Williams (18-0-1), from, Philadelphia, and
Joey Hernandez (24-2-1), from Miami.
“I am ranked seventh contender by the WBA, I am WBC Americas
Continental champion, and I want my chance in a world title
fight, said Williams. I don’t have to tell you that this
fight Hernandez is crucial for me. Hernandez has a good
record, a good reputation, then, if I beat him clearly, I
will certainly improve my position in the WBA ratings and
increase my chances to fight for a world title.”
Hernandez said: “If the fight is crucial for Williams, it’s
certainly the same thing for me. No doubt the winner will
move up in the international ratings, and improve his
chances to be involved in an eventual participation to a
world championship.”
Bernard Barré, the GYM Group scout, is expecting a war
between Williams and Hernandez. “I think the spectators will
have problems to stay on their seats when the fight
Williams-Hernandez will start, said Barré. I know both, I
know how much to are talented, intense and determinate. I am
really expecting a war between these two fighters.”
The Montrealer Colombian heavyweight Oscar Rivas will
participate to one of the most important preliminary fight
of the event. Rivas (15-0-0) will face the German Oezcan
Cetinkaya (19-9-2) in an eight rounders. “I am closer and
closer to a participation to a North American championship,
said Rivas. It’s very important for me so stay undefeated.”
Rivas smiled when we asked him what he thinks about the fact
that the Montrealer Jean Pascal (29-3-1), the former WBC
light heavyweight champion of the world, wants to complete
his career in the heavyweight division. “If Pascal wants to
challenge me, perfect, he will receive the correction of his
life, said Rivas. I cannot see how Pascal could beat the top
fighters of the heavyweight division. The natural
heavyweights are too big and too strong physically for a guy
like Jean Pascal.”
