Bizier Will
Try To Provoke Inside Boxing With Lawson

MONTRÉAL - For the second time in a span of a year, Kevin
Bizier will try to win an IBF welterweight elimination bout.
Saturday evening at the Miccosukee Indian Gaming Casino in
Miami, Bizier (24-2-0) will face the Ghanian Frederik Lawson
(24-0-0) in a NBC Sports boxing show, and the winner of this
12 rounds bout will become the mandatory challenger for the
IBF 147 champion of the world, the British Kell Brook
(35-0-0).
Last year about at the same time at the Québec City Colisée,
Bizier, a fighter from Québec City, lost an IBF elimination
bout against the Montrealer Romanian southpaw Jo Jo Dan
(35-3-0), by split decision.
“I am positive it will be less complicated to fight Lawson
than it was to fight Jo Jo Dan, said Bizier when he meet the
medias Tuesday morning at the Gym Group gym. Jo Jo Dan is
moving constantly from right and left in the ring, and each
time I was close to him to attack, he was grabbing my arms.
It’s was so frustrating. Lawson is not a mover in the ring.
I watched him on tapes. He loves to stay in front op the
opponent, and use his long reach to jab him. And he has a
very good jab. Then, I will need to provoke inside boxing
the most often possible. If I can stay close to him in most
of time in each round, I will be able to hit him with hooks
sand right hand, and neutralize his jab in the same time. I
know that we are both solid punchers, then, anything can
happen in every round.”
Bizier knows that Lawson is undefeated, but he is not
intimidate at all. “I am sure I will be comfortable in the
ring, said Bizier. The Lawson’s style is pretty good for a
fighter like me. We are both hard punchers. If I can stay
close to him in every round, I am sure the crowd will assist
to an intense and spectacular fight. For sure, I will fight
with intensity, because I need to win it to get my chance to
fight the IBF world champion. Jo Jo Dan did not do very well
against Keel Brook, but I am positive I have the style to
give a great competition to Kell Brook. Obviously, I cannot
be concentrate on Brook now. i got to take care of Lawson in
first.”
Last March, in Sheffield, England, Jo Jo Dan lost by TKO in
less than four rounds against Brook.
Bizier is more than satisfy of his preparation for Lawson.
“I got a great training camp with my trainer, Marc Ramsay,
said Bizier. I know its crucial for me to be extremely
energetic for 12 rounds, in case that the fight’s result is
decided by the judges scores. But it’s my intention to hurt
him in every rounds… in hoping I will kill progressively his
confidence.”
At his last fight, April 4th at the Québec City Colisée,
Bizier won by decision in eight rounds against the French
Fouad El Massoudi (13-6-0). Lawson, at his last presence in
the ring, March 26th at the Hialeah Park Place in Florida,
won by decision against the Colombian Breidis Prescott
(28-7-0).
