Hyppolite Open To The Idea To Face Andre Ward

By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL — Ranked seventh contender by the WBC in the super middleweight division, the Montrealer Schiller Hyppolite (16-1-0) said he is open to the idea to face the Californian Andre Ward in 2016.
WBA 168 pounds champion of the world, Ward (28-0-0) is considered actually as the second best fighter pound for pound in the world.

Apparently, Hyppolite’s promoter, the Montrealer Camille Estephan, had preliminary discussions a few days ago with the Andre Ward’s team, about a possibility of a fight Ward-Hyppolite in 2016.

Last June, Ward made a comeback in the ring after a year and a half of inaction. He won by TKO in the nine round against the British Paul Smith (35-6-0) in Oakland, California.

Ward will dispute his next bout November 21st at the Mandalay Bay Arena in las Vegas, against the Colombian Alexander Brand (24-1-0).

Hyppolite, on his side, will fight December 4th at the Metropolis Centre in Montréal. The name of his next opponent should be confirmed in the next days.
