Dierry Jean Will Challenge
Terrence Crawford
For The WBO Super Lightweight Championship

MONTRÉAL - As confirmed by Pound4Pound a couple of months
ago, the Montrealer Dierry Jean will face
Terrence Crawford in a WBO super lightweight world
championship bout. That news has been revealed to
Pound4Pound by Camille Estephan, the promoter-manager of the
Eye Of The Tiger Management Group.
It’s official: the bout will be presented October 24th in
Omaha, Nebraska, in Crawford's backyard. The bout will be
televised by HBO.
Jean was fighting in the lightweight (135 pounds) division
since his first defeat in pro boxing, January 25th
2014 in Washington, in an IBF super lightweight (140 pounds)
championship of the world against Lamont Peterson
(33-3-1).
Jean (29-1-0), who has a perfect record of 4-0-0 in the
lightweight division, mentioned recently he is ready to fight
in both divisions, if he could get another chance in a world
championship fight.
Jean feels a lot of stronger mentally and physically since
his therapy for alcohol happened in October 2014. “I feel
better than ever", said recently Jean. "I feel stronger
mentally and physically, and I am positive I have now the
weapons to become world champion.”
