Lucas Is Back With Interbox

By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL - Former WBC super middleweight champion of the world, the Montrealer Eric Lucas made peace with InterBox two days ago, and he is back with the organization. The news has been confirmed by the promoter of Interbox, Jean Bédard.

Three years ago, Lucas sued InterBox for $400,000, revealing the company never gave him his share for the Lucian Bute’s fights. Few days ago, Lucas has decided to stop this legal action against InterBox. Apparently, Lucas and InterBox made a secret money agreement Tuesday.

Lucas was the co-director of InterBox after his retirement from the ring. Lucas stopped his boxing career in 2010, after a lost by TKO against Librado Andrade in the ring of the Québec City Colisée.

Bédard did not confirm the new Lucas role with InterBox. He could be a trainer or an advisor for Bédard.
