Pascal Hopes That Kovalev Will
Take Doping Test

MONTRÉAL - Former WBC light heavyweight champion of the
world, the Montrealer Jean Pascal forced the Montrealer
Romanian Lucian Bute to pass a doping test last year. The
two fighters were clean.
Finally, Pascal (29-2-1) beat Bute (31-2-0) by unanimous
decision in a NABF light heavyweight North American
championship presented January 18th 2014 at Bell Centre in
Montréal.
Now, Pascal hopes that the WBA, the IBF and the WBO
championship committees will require that the Russian Sergey
Kovalev (26-0-1) pass a doping test in the next weeks.
“I am ready to pass another doping test if the WBA, the IBF
and WBO is requiring it, but I hope that the three
organizations will force Kovalev to do it also, said Pascal.
I think it’s a normal thing to do in a so important event.
March 14th at Bell Centre, Kovalev will defend his three
crowns against Pascal, a 12 rounds bout televises by HBO.
Kovalev was WBO light heavyweight champion of the world last
summer, and became WBO, WBA and IBF 175 pounds champion of
the world November 8th at the Boardwalk Arena in Atlantic
City, in beating the veteran Bernard Hopkins (55-7-2) by
unanimous decision.
