Purse Bid For Stevenson vs.
Kovalev

MONTRÉAL - The WBC championship committee confirmed that if
the Montrealer southpaw Adonis Stevenson beats Sakio Bika
(32-6-3) April 4th in the ring of the Québec City Colisée, a
purse bid for a mega fight between Stevenson and the Russian
Sergey Kovalev will he hold at the WBC head office in Mexico
City April 17th.
If Stevenson (25-1-0) is making a fifth successful defense
of his WBC light heavyweight April 4th, he wants absolutely
to face Kovalev (27-0-1) before the end of the year, to
unify all the four major world titles of the light
heavyweight division. And Kovalev, the WBA, WBO and IBF 175
pounds champion of the world, has the same desire.
Kovalev made a first successful defense of his triple crowns
March 14th at Bell Centre in Montréal, in beating the former
WBC light heavyweight champion of the world, the Montrealer
Jean pascal (29-3-1), by TKO in the eight round.
Thursday, Pascal mentioned he was not in the beast of health
when he faced Kovalev. He said he went he went in the ring
with a pierced eardrum and a muddled sight.
Before the fight, no doctor detected it.
