Butler Wins By TKO In The Third
Round

MONTRÉAL - The IBF Junior-Youth champion of the world of the
super welterweight division (a title for fighters of 21
years old and less), the Montrealer Steven Butler stayed
undefeated Thursday evening in the ring of the Claude-Robillard
Centre in the North Side of Montréal.
Ranked 15th contender by the IBF in the 154 pounds division,
Butler (17-0-1) won by TKO over the Brazilian southpaw
Robson Soares De Assis (15-3-0).
Former WBO Latino’s champion, Soares De Assis went on the
floor in the first round when Butler connected him with a
powerful right hand.
Butler provoked a second and third knockdowns in the second
round, the first one on a body shot, the second one with a
solid hook on the chin.
Soares De Assis went on the canvas for the fourth times in
the third round, and the referee Mike Griffin stopped the
bout. Butler won by TKO after 53 seconds of action in the
third round.
“I predicted my win by KO, and I was right, said Butler in
getting out of the ring. I connected my opponent with a lot
of power shots in each round, and clearly, I was hurting
him. I am very satisfy of my performance. I still
undefeated, and it’s crucial for me to stay undefeated. I
want absolutely to get a place in the «Top 10»of the IBF
ratings before the end of the year. I know that I am very
close to face fighters rank in the world. I still believe I
am the most powerful puncher of the super welterweight
division.”
The Montrealer super lightweight Batyr Jukembayev increased
his pro record to 4-0-0 with a victory by KO over the
Mexican Randy Lozano (10-10-2).
Jukembayev was clearly better than his opponent technically
and strategically.
Lozano got a severe cut over the right eye at the end of the
second round. And in third round, Jukembayev knock Lozano
out with a very hard left hook on the jaw.
The Montrealer Josue St-Cyr made successful pro debut, with
a win by KO in the first round over Mike Breton (0-2-0),
from St-George de Beauce, Québec.
St-Cyr scored the KO with a powerful right hand on the head.
The fight was over after only 2.23 minutes of action.
In the opening bout of the evening, the Montrealer
lightweight Ablai Khussainov improved his pro record to
2-0-0 in beating another Montrealer, Roodsy Vincent by KO at
1.52 minute of the third round.
Vincent, who was making his pro debut, went on the floor on
a solid left hook on the chin. He stayed on the canvas more
than two minutes.
