Beterbiev vs.
Koelling IBF Elimination Bout Cancelled
By Daniel Cloutier
MONTRÉAL — The IBF light heavyweight elimination bout
between the Montrealer Russian Artur Beterbiev (11-0-0) and
the German Erico Koelling (23-1-0), scheduled for July 29th,
has been officially cancelled.
Originally, the fight was supposed to be presented at the
Vidéotron Centre in Québec City. After, the bout has been
transferred to the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York.
Now, it’s cancelled. Apparently, Beterbiev has been unable
to obtain a visa to travel from Montréal to USA.
The IBF championship committee will decide in few days the
names of the fighters who will be involved in this 175
pounds elimination fight. We don’t know if Beterbiev and
Koelling are still in this project.
