Adonis Stevenson Has Permission To Face Badou Jack?

By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL - According ESPN, the WBC championship committee gave the permission to the Montrealer southpaw Adonis Stevenson (29-1-0) postponement of the defence of his WBC light heavyweight championship of the world against the Montrealer Eleider Alvarez, if he wants absolutely to dispute a unification of the WBC and WBA championships of the world against the Swedish African Badou Jack (22-1-2).

A fight Stevenson-Jack could be presented in Québec City in March.

Alvarez (23-0-0), who is the WBC mandatory challenger since a year and a half, should be involved on the same show then Stevenson and Jack. He would fight the Ukrainian Oleksander Gvozdyk (14-0-0) for the interim WBC light heavyweight world championship.

If this situation happens, the winner of a fight Stevenson-Jack would be obliged to face the winner of a bout Alvarez-Gvozdyk.
