By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL — The promoter of The Eye Of The Tiger Management Group, the Montrealer businessman Camille Estephan, confirmed his decision to present two pro boxing shows in three days at the end of September at the Montréal Casino. The first boxing show will be Thursday evening, September 26th, and the second one will be the Saturday afternoon September 28th.

In the first event, the Montrealer super welterweight (154 pounds) Steven Butler (27-1-1) will be involved in the main event, but the identity of his opponent will be confirmed in the next weeks or the next days.

In the second boxing show, the Montrealer Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov (8-0-0), the WBC Inter-Continental champion, will be involve in the main event. He will be opposed to the African heavyweight champion, Tshibuabua Kalonga (9-0-0), from the Congo Republic.

Kalonga said: “Makhmudov is a huge man (6’6’), but he never fought a fighter more dangerous than me. I really believe I will become the first fighter to inflict him a defeat.”

Estephan is clearly enthusiastic to present these two boxing shows in 72 hours. “Because we have a team of 25 boxers now, I took the decision to organize two pro boxing shows in three days,” said Estephan Wednesday afternoon at the Montréal Casino. “I can guarantee you that these two boxing shows will be intense and spectacular. And with the team we have now, I am positive that we will have one or two world champions in the years to come. We have a team with a lot of talents and our fighters have a great determination. I am more than optimistic for our future.”

At his last fight, May second at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel-Casino, Butler won by majority decision of the judges against the excellent Ukrainian fighter Vitali Kopylenko (28-2-0). “I scored a very significant win May second in Las Vegas, but I am extremely happy to know that he will dispute my next bout in home,” said Butler. “I did not get my best performance in Las Vegas, but I am determinate to get the greatest performance of my pro boxing career September 26th. I learned a lot in my fight in Las Vegas, and you will see, I will be better than ever in my next bouts.”

Just before the main event, September 26th, the Montrealer Russian Batyr Juikembayev (16-0-0), a super lightweight (140 pounds), will challenge the former WBC world champion, the Mexican Miguel Vazquez (41-8-0).

And September 28th, just before the fight Makhmudov-Kalonga, the Montrealer super lightweight Mathieu Germain (17-0-1) will be in action, but his rival still to be determined.

On this boxing show, we will see in action the Montrealer Russian cruiserweight Artur Ziyatdinov (10-0-) Sébastien Roy (7-0-0), a welterweight from Thetford Mines, Québec, and the super featherweight (130 pounds) Keamy Cloutier (3-0-0), from Trois-Rivières, Québec.

The boxers who are sure to take part to the preliminaries fights September 26th, will be: the female flyweight Kim Clavel (9-0-0), the Montrealer Russian super lightweight Georgi Chelokhsaev (16-1-1) and the middleweight (160 pounds) Gleb Baksdhi, a Russian established in Montréal since a month, who will make his pro debut.
