Leo Santa Cruz (36-1-1, 19 KOs) headlined the PBC show at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live to defend his WBA World featherweight title, and did what was expected of him. It took all 12 rounds, but he defeated Rafael Rivera (26-3-2, 17 KOs) in a unanimous decision. The scores were the same on all of the cards; 119-109. But donít let those numbers fool you. Rivera came to fight and there was no backup in him whatsoever. The two went toe-to-toe for the majority of the fight, and many in attendance gave Rafael a round or two more than that.

In the co-main event, Omar Figueroa, Jr. (28-0-1, 19 KOs) battled John Molina, Jr. (30-8, 24 KOs) in a bout scheduled for 10 rounds in the welterweight division. Figueroa was able to keep his win streak alive, despite having to eat a couple of hard punches by Molina. John was the heavier-handed of the two, while Omar worked the body really well. At the end of the 10 rounds we went to the scorecards. All of the judges agreed on the winner, but not on the numbers. The final scores were 97-93, 98-92, and 99-91, all for Figueroa.
