Cloutier’s Canada Corner
The WBA World Championship Bout Between
Jean Pascal & Badou Jack Could Be Cancelled
By Daniel Cloutier
MONTRÉAL - According the Badou Jack’s team, the Montrealer
Jean Pascal has been found positive for three drug’s tests
in the last days in Montréal. Pascal was supposed to fight
the French African Badou Jack June 6th at the Hard Rock
Arena in Miami in a WBA light heavyweight (175 pounds)
championship of the world, but the event is now in serious
danger.
“My team is looking for another opponent actually,” said
Badou Jack Saturday morning. “I am expecting to fight June
6th, but I am positive that Pascal won’t be my next
opponent. I have been informed that Pascal failed three
drug’s test.”
It was supposed to be e rematch.
December 28th 2019 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta,
Pascal (35-6-1) beat Badou Jack (22-2-3) by split decision
of the judges. Both fighters thought that a rematch was
logical in the circumstances.
Showtime will televise the June 6th boxing show organized by
Mayweather Promotions organization.
