2021 Turkey Of The Year:
Keith Thurman
If there is anyone’s accomplishments inside the ring
that have not amounted to a hill of beans in 2021 it is
Keith Thurman. Oh sure, we have all heard him popping
off after any big Welterweight fight claiming he wants
to fight any of the top guys. But seriously, I think I
speak for the masses when I say we are tired of hearing
this guy bumping his gums. Whether it’s Erroll Spence or
Terrence Crawford fighting, it seems the fighter they
call “One Time” needs to shout from the rooftops that he
wants any and all of them.
But let’s go ahead and take a look at Thurman’s
accomplishments in 2021. And while you are at it take a
peek at 2020. Let the record reflect that it’s clear he
don’t want none of that smoke, no matter what he says.
The last time any of us saw Thurman in the ring it
looked like Manny Pacquiao went at him with a sack of
marbles. That was July of 2019, some 30 months ago.
You know, it wasn’t all that long ago that one of
boxings top analysts tabbed Thurman as the “Heir
Apparent” to Floyd Mayweather Jr.
As it turns out it’s a lot more likely that Thurman is
better suited to be the successor to Claude Rains.
Happy Thanksgiving.
