Kaipo Gallegos Training Camp Notes
Undefeated lightweight prospect Kaipo Gallegos (11-0-1, 9
KOs) will take a major step forward in his rising career as
he faces battle-tested contender Julian Gonzalez (16-1-1, 12
KOs) in his first scheduled 10-round bout, kicking off
action at 5:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. PT from the iconic MGM
Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The bout sets the tone for a jam-packed PBC Pay-Per-View
event on Prime Video, beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT,
headlined by WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Sebastian
“The Towering Inferno” Fundora defending his title against
former unified world champion Keith “One Time” Thurman.
For Gallegos, who is co-promoted with Boxlab Promotions and
Shuan Boxing, this fight represents more than just another
appearance, it’s about sending a message to the champions at
lightweight. Stepping into his first 10-round contest
against a dangerous opponent with knockout power signals his
transition from prospect to legitimate contender.
“Julian Gonzalez is a very solid, experienced fighter with
power, and I respect everything he brings to the ring,” said
Gallegos. “For me, this is just another step in my journey.
It’s my first 10-round fight, so I’m focused on staying
disciplined, listening to my team, and doing things the
right way. I’ve worked hard in camp, and I’m just looking to
go in there, perform at my best, and keep improving.”
Gallegos enters the bout following a focused and demanding
training camp led by his father and head trainer, Jayson
Gallegos, a dynamic that continues to shape his development
both inside and outside the ring.
“Camp has been on another level,” Gallegos explained.
“Training with my dad brings a different kind of intensity
and trust. He knows how to push me mentally and physically.
We’ve sharpened everything, conditioning, defense, and my
overall ring IQ. This camp was about evolving as a complete
fighter, I’m ready to go.”
With the spotlight of a global platform and a marquee event,
Gallegos understands the magnitude of the moment and what a
victory could mean moving forward.
“A win here puts me exactly where I want to be,” said
Gallegos. “This is a big step toward becoming a contender.
I’m going to show I belong with the top names in the
division. This is one of those fights that can change

Fighting at the MGM Grand and on a massive Pay-Per-View

plans to seize the moment in front of a global audience.
