Yuriorkis Gamboa, Gustavo Trujillo & BKB 58 Stars Showcase Skills & Power At Miami Media Workouts

BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing, the world's largest professional bare knuckle boxing organization, kicked off fight week for BKB 58: Miami with a media workout at KO Zone earlier today, giving fans and media their first look at the fighters ahead of Saturday's event at the James L. Knight Center. BKB 58: Miami will air live on Telemundo and VICE TV in the U.S., and on talkSPORT in the U.K.

The session doubled as a homecoming of sorts, with KO Zone serving as a training base for several fighters on the BKB 58 card. Hosting the workout inside a working local gym put BKB’s growing footprint in South Florida on full display, with the promotion’s biggest names training, giving back, and connecting with the community and coaches who have helped shape their careers. Ahead of Saturday’s hometown card, the fighters also had the opportunity to inspire the next generation.

Host Gareth A. Davies opened the session alongside BKB CEO David Tetreault, who previewed Saturday’s blockbuster event.

BKB CEO David Tetreault said: “We’re very fortunate to be able to announce that Gustavo Trujillo will face Mick Terrill in the main event for the BKB Heavyweight World Championship. This fight came together in the last 24 hours. Mick was on his way to the U.S. as an observer when he saw that Mark O’Neill was having visa issues and contacted us overnight. We were able to put together in the last 16 hours what would be the greatest heavyweight fight in bare knuckle history.”

BKB Heavyweight World Champion Gustavo “The Cuban Assassin” Trujillo, who now faces multi-promotion world champion Mick Terrill in the main event for the BKB Heavyweight World Championship, said: “I’m here to fight the best. I’m a world champion, and this is the fight I wanted. I don’t want to fight anyone who isn’t the No. 1 contender. Thanks to Mick for making this fight happen and on Saturday, you will get to see why I am the best heavyweight bare knuckle boxer in the world.”

Olympic gold medalist and former WBA and IBF Featherweight World Champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, who makes his highly anticipated BKB debut in Saturday’s main event against Yesner Talavera, said: “I feel amazing, and I want to thank God for the opportunity to fight here with BKB. It’s going to be a huge fight because bare knuckle boxing brings so much action and so many knockouts. The fans are in for a real treat!”

UFC veteran Aspen Ladd, who also makes her BKB debut against Bianca Daimoni, said: “I cannot be more excited to be here. I was excited about the signing but to finally get to the event, I am on top of the world. My opponent is tough and a big girl, but this fight will not go to a decision.”

In a blockbuster change to the card, multi-promotion world champion Mick Terrill, stepped up and called for a shot at the title and got it. Gustavo Trujillo is now back in the main event, defending his BKB Heavyweight World Championship against Terrill in what promises to be a massive heavyweight showdown. Yuriorkis Gamboa moves to the co-main event for his BKB debut against Yesner Talavera. Also on the card, Aspen Ladd makes her BKB debut against Bianca Daimoni, while Roberto Duran Jr. faces Ryan Spivey.
