Teofimo Lopez Los Angeles Media Workout Quotes
Two-division world champion Teofimo “The Takeover” Lopez
held a media workout in Los Angeles on Tuesday as he
prepares for his high-stakes championship showdown against
WBA Welterweight World Champion Rolly Romero taking place
Saturday, August 22 headlining a PBC Pay-Per-View event
available on DAZN and Prime Video from T-Mobile Arena in Las
Vegas.
After winning world titles at 135 and 140 pounds, Lopez will
look to become a three-division world champion with a
victory over Romero in a summer matchup that pits two of
this generation’s most compelling stars against each other.
The event is promoted by TGB Promotions, in association with
Takeover Promotions.
Here is what Lopez had to say Tuesday from Fortune Gym:
TEOFIMO LOPEZ
“I’m fighting a big puncher at 147 and going up to that
weight for the first time. We’re taking a risk, because it’s
no risk, no reward. I’m just focusing on my objectives so I
can come out victorious.
“Every fight at 147 will be my biggest fight. I won’t say
they’ll all be the most challenging. The best man will end
up on top. Right now I’m only focused on Rolly Romero.
“I’m trying to make the best fights we can make. Signing
with DAZN was a no-brainer. They started with ‘The
Takeover’.
“I’m just going to keep going forward in my career. I’m so
locked in on continuing to achieve bigger and better things
one fight at a time. The fans can decide my legacy when it’s
all over.
“I think Rolly’s skills are underappreciated. He controls
the pace and makes it his fight, everyone overlooks that.
But he’s not underrated on the stature side. He’s a world
champion for a reason.”
