Floyd Schofield III & Lucas Bahdi To Battle
For The WBA Lightweight World Championship Oct. 10 From
Wintrust Arena In Chicago, IL
World championship glory is only one fight away for
undefeated lightweight contenders Floyd “Kid Austin”
Schofield III (19-0, 13 KOs) and “Prince” Lucas Bahdi (20-0,
15 KOs), who will put their perfect records on the line for
the WBA Lightweight World Championship. In this dangerous,
high-stakes matchup, only one fighter will leave the ring
with the coveted championship belt; the other with the first
loss of his professional career. The 12-round main event
takes place Saturday, October 10, live worldwide on DAZN
from Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The event is
presented by Golden Boy in co-promotion with Most Valuable
Promotions (MVP).

who is going up two divisions to face Sandoval. Chicago will
be on fire with this card because it’ll be Golden Boy vs.
MVP, and everyone knows nobody builds and develops fighters

In a spectacular Mexico vs. Puerto Rico co-main event,
Villalba, Puerto Rico’s Oscar “El Pupilo” Collazo (15-0, 12
KOs) will seek to make history in a new weight class,
jumping up two divisions to face current Unified WBA and WBC
World Champion Ricardo “El Niño” Sandoval (27-2, 18 KOs) of
Rialto, Calif. The 12-round co-feature is presented by
Golden Boy in co-promotion with Miguel Cotto Promotions.

opportunity to move up in weight for a great fight and make
history for Puerto Rican boxing by facing another unified
champion. Sandoval is a challenge that motivates me and my

Undefeated lightweight contender Floyd “Kid Austin”
Schofield III is coming off the biggest win of his career,
stopping Tevin Farmer in the opening round of their
scheduled 10-round bout at Honda Center in Anaheim. The
dominant performance marked a pivotal moment for Schofield,
who is now setting his sights on a world title and
establishing himself among the division’s elite. The victory
was the latest in an impressive run for Schofield, who has
quickly established himself as one of boxing’s top young
talents. In November 2024, he captured the WBA International
Lightweight title with a unanimous decision victory over
Rene Giron in the main event at The Virgin Hotels in Las
Vegas. Despite hitting the canvas in the 11th round,
Schofield quickly regrouped and battled his way to the
decision, showcasing his ability to overcome adversity and
stay composed under pressure. Schofield made his
professional debut in October 2020, announcing his arrival
with a first-round knockout over Richard Esquibel. Since
then, he's built an impressive resume, collecting wins while
demonstrating his versatility, skill and determination
inside the ring. Outside the ropes, Schofield’s journey has
shaped the fighter and person he is today. Early in his
life, he and his father experienced homelessness and spent
months living in a shelter. That experience continues to
fuel his passion for giving back to his community and
inspiring others. With an undefeated record, unwavering
determination and a growing list of statement victories,
“Kid Austin” is ready for his next challenge as he continues
his pursuit of a world title.
Most Valuable Promotions’ Canadian lightweight standout
“Prince” Lucas Bahdi (20-0, 15 KOs), from Niagara Falls,
Ontario, has gone undefeated since making his professional
debut in mid-2019, winning his first 11 fights by knockout.
The 32-year-old top contender had unanimous decision wins
against Diego Fabian Eligio and Diego Andrade Chavez in 2022
before resuming his knockout streak. In May 2023, Bahdi
defeated Jesus Amparan to claim the IBF North American
Lightweight title. Bahdi–a top-ranked lightweight by all
four of boxing’s major sanctioning bodies–proved himself
among the best title contenders in the lightweight division
when he scored a sensational knockout win over H2O Sylve on
the main card of Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry in July 2024. The
finish earned Bahdi 2024 Knockout of the Year recognitions
from Boxing Scene, Talksport, Dan Rafael, Yahoo! Uncrowned,
and NY Fights. He also earned a decision win over Armando
Casamonica on the undercard of MVP’s Jake Paul vs. Mike
Tyson in November 2024 before taking home a unanimous
decision win over Ryan James Racaza while headlining MVP’s
Most Valuable Prospects 11 in Toronto in March 2025. Most
recently, Bahdi earned a 12-round unanimous decision victory
over former world champion Roger Gutiérrez in a WBA
lightweight title eliminator in August 2025, dropping
Gutiérrez in the sixth round en route to the win and
improving his undefeated record to 20-0. Bahdi became the
mandatory challenger to then-WBA title holder Gervonta Davis
with the win.
Ricardo Sandoval is no longer just a rising contender, he’s
a unified world champion. The flyweight from Rialto, CA,
shook up the boxing world when he traveled to Japan and
dethroned two-division unified titlist Kenshiro Teraji in
front of his home crowd on July 30, 2025. Teraji, widely
regarded as a pound-for-pound talent, pushed Sandoval into
deep waters, dropping him with a heavy right hand in the
fifth round, but 'El Niño' weathered the storm, stayed
composed and fought back with the grit of a champion. After
12 brutal rounds, Sandoval walked away with a split decision
victory and the WBC and WBA world titles. This was his first
shot at world title glory, and a career-defining win.
Sandoval first made headlines in July 2024 when he captured
the WBC Flyweight Silver Title with a tenth-round knockout
over former WBO light flyweight world champion Ángel Acosta
at Toyota Arena. That breakout performance launched him into
the top of the division, earning him top-six rankings across
all major sanctioning bodies and The Ring Magazine. In early
2024 he signed with Golden Boy Promotions, joining one of
boxing’s most elite stables, and has lived up to the hype
ever since. He successfully defended his WBC Silver title on
the undercard of Oscar Duarte vs. Miguel Madueño at the
Honda Center on Feb. 15, 2025, proving once again that he’s
one of the most dangerous flyweights in the sport. Now a
unified champion in one of boxing’s deepest weight classes,
Sandoval has kicked the door open and even bigger fights
await. A Golden Boy world champion, 'El Niño' is no longer
on the rise.
Oscar Collazo continues to cement his dominance among
boxing’s pound-for-pound elite. In his latest outing, "El
Pupilo" moved up two weight classes to make his flyweight
debut and delivered a dominant performance against
late-replacement contender Neider Valdez of Mexico. From the
opening bell, Collazo showcased his superior skill and
sharpness, scoring three knockdowns in the second round
before securing the knockout victory. With the win, Collazo
added the WBO International Flyweight title to his
collection of belts.
Prior to that, he successfully defended his WBA, WBO and
Ring Magazine world titles at the Honda Center, forcing the
corner of Jesus Haro to stop the fight before the start of
the seventh round. The victory marked his seventh
consecutive title defense, further solidifying his reign in
the minimumweight division. He further elevated his status
in November 2024 during Golden Boy Promotions and Riyadh
Season’s “Latino Night” in Riyadh, where he faced longtime
WBA champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong in a historic unification
bout. Collazo secured a seventh-round technical knockout,
adding the WBA belt and the division’s first-ever Ring
Magazine championship to his collection. The Villalba native
has steadily built momentum since becoming one of the
sport’s fastest-rising champions. In May 2023, Collazo
captured the WBO minimumweight world title with a
seventh-round knockout of Melvin Jerusalem at Fantasy
Springs Resort Casino, becoming the fastest Puerto Rican
fighter to win a world title with just seven professional
bouts. He now stands as one of the most dominant forces in
the lower weight classes, continuing to build his legacy
while setting his sights on becoming an undisputed champion.
