Blue: "After dominating William Joppy from first round to
last, Taylor should get straight in with the cream, Hopkins or Trinidad.
Unbeaten in 22, he can punch (ask Marquez), has good movement, speed and
uses the ring well. Add to this the fact he's 26, it's the perfect time
to fight them. He looked more convincing against Joppy than Hopkins did,
though it's fair to say BH will have softened him up a bit, mostly with
his headwork (butting!)
Nevertheless, William is a world-class operator, with great resilience
and ring savvy, and came to fight. I think the most important aspect is
confidence, superseded by momentum,. He's on a roll, and hasn't looked
like being beaten yet, given a couple of close-ish decisions on the
cards, which shouldn't have been doubtful. At 6ft 1 he's tall as well,
has good range, and I think his Bad Intentions would give Tito in
particular all kinds of problems.
He's better than Mayorga, and Eastman in my opinion, and should not be
waiting around fighting the likes of Sturm and lesser boxers, he should
be fighting at his level, or the level above, because he has the ability
to raise his game, can do the 12 rounds without sweat, and is a powerful
lad.
He is the real deal."
|
Red: "Firstly, dominating a Joppy who came out of retirement
from a beating he took through 12 rounds from Hopkins is hardly an
accomplishment. Joppy never beat anyone worth while anyway, losing to
Casar Green(who the hell is this guy), to Tito quite easily, and then
couldnt win a single round against Hopkins. Joppy won by a single point
against Eastman in a fight he should have lost.
Secondly, you said Taylor shouldnt fight the likes of a Sturm, yet Sturm
was robbed a victory over DeLaHoya, let alone beat Taylor in the
amateurs if I can remember. Felix Sturm is the perfect matchup, not a
total demolition against a Trinidad or a Hopkins. Taylor did lose a few
early rounds to Joppy as Jopp's jab was the main weapon that kept Taylor
back. That lone jab from Joppy is hardly what Hopkins has to offer. Then
you want to talk about power we'll bring in Tito. You mentioned Marquez
(another retired fighter before the actual fight) about Taylor's power,
but in that fight, the lone round Marquez did win, he landed a shot with
his eyes closed and Taylor was hurt and almost went down. A shot from
Tito and Taylor almost wont see the 2nd round. We dont know what Taylor
is all about, so dont rush him like they did David Reid who also looked
like the next big thing prior to the Tito fight. Throw him in with
Sturm, maybe even Wright. Heck, Forrest and Margarito still have say
so's. We have a whole list of big names that Taylor has yet to face."
|
Good
start by Enzo to begin the 1st round. He waists no time and shoots out
the jab. Doubles it up, triples it up. JXL plays the counter puncher in
this round, coming back with an argument for everything that's been said
by Enzo, however, Enzo's defense is superb here and JXL isn't landing
clean. JXL bring up a good point that Joppy took the Taylor fight after
the "beating" he took from Hopkins, claiming it's "hardly an
accomplishment". At 1st it looks like a valid statement, but look at a
recent victory by Marco Antonio Barrera over Morales. Barrera was beaten
more badly than Joppy was vs. Hopkins at the hand of Pacquiao, yet came
back for 2 big wins and the Title. This was Joppy's fight to show that
type of determination and heart, but Taylor took it from him after the
first few rounds of their fight.
* 10-9 round to Blue *

|
- Round 2 - |
Red: "Whats the problems with taking on a Margarito or a
Forrest before Tito or Hopkins? What about Santos, Wright, Ouma? These
guys are either in the same league, or above that of Taylor. Taylor
needs a prooving fight. One that tells and shows everyone he is ready.
Joppy isnt it. A win over any of those mentioned deserves some
credibility, and then I'll think maybe he can step it up to Tito or
Hopkins. When you look at it though, every name I mentioned looks like
they deserve a shot over Taylor.
Lets say Taylor does beat Hopkins. What then? There wouldnt be a point
to fight lesser rated guys, it would be like his career is over. Nothing
left to accomplish but to wait for another Taylor, young and tough
Olympian, to come up the ranks to take a shot at him. That's going to
take forever. Lets have Taylor work his way up, not just have it handed
to him."
|
Blue: "Joppy was a durable, classy and well-respected world
champion, so his credentials should not just be tossed aside. And why do
you think Taylor should fight Sturm if Sturm is such a classy
operator. You said Sturm was robbed of victory by De La Hoya, which may
be true, but the DLH that turned up for that fight was overweight and
underwhelmed. Sturm is an upright fighter with little skill, in my
opinion, whereas Taylor has the lot. What would be the point in waiting
until he is 30-31 years old to fight the likes of Tito and Hopkins? For
starters, and this is very important, neither of them will be boxing in
two years time, especially Bernard, so it would have to happen in the
next 12 months or so. Your argument basically disrespected Jermaine's
chances by mentioning weak fighters like Sturm and dismissing the likes
of Joppy and Marquez. I did not actually see a reason why he should not
get in with Tito or BH. Taylor looks solid in my opinion, and can take a
shot. Tito rocks most people he faces, but often gets rocked back
(Vargas, DLH), so that cancels out that argument. I think a young hungry
fighter should be given his opportunity before he burns out and loses
his ability...Taylor is approaching his peak, he should be given a shot
NOW. And finally, you said "Throw him in with Sturm, maybe even Wright.
Heck, Forrest and Margarito still have say so's." You would rather him
fight Winky Wright?! And Santos and Ouma woulde get decked by Wright, as
Wright is past them. Beating Bernard Hopkins, which you did not dismiss
in your argument, would be a tremendous achievement, and would be the
start of a great career, not the end. What are fighters supposed to do,
wait until they've beaten all the crap, reach their thirties and then
fight the best? That's ridiculous...
"All we are saying is give Taylor a chance" - John Lennon, 1970."
|
JXL comes out to begin
round 2 with his guard up. Much like in round 1, he seems cautious to
jump right in there. Taylor taking on a "Margarito or Forrest before"
might not be a bad idea, but the points JXL makes for Taylor not
fighting the top guys in Tito and Hopkins isn't the best. Enzo is able
to land a jab and a straight right hand, right through the guard of JXL.
"Nothing left to accomplish" would be Taylor after he beats Hopkins?
Then what is he in the game for? Moving up and down in divisions to take
on the other best is one plan, and fighting, duh, Tito would be another.
That's 2 top guys right there. Then you mentioned fighters such as
Wright, and Santos who are both champs, meaning they are also Top Guys,
so that's another 2 fighters for Taylor after a Hopkins win (not
suggesting Taylor would win). Then you also mentioned Ouma who is so
close to getting his shot. Well that looks like the guy you mentioned as
the new up and comer for Taylor to face. So right there are at least 2-3
more years of fights left for Taylor after a possible Hopkins fight if
he were to take it so soon.
Enzo's skills here almost go unnoticed with the mistakes JXL appears to
be making. Enzo managed to open up a cut over JXL's right eye and the
blood begins to flow. JXL's corner has some work to do in between rounds
as that cut may be a factor in the fight being stopped.
*10-8 round to Blue* no knockdowns, just
dominant!
|
|
- Round 3 - |
Blue: "At the press conference before the Joppy fight, a
confident Jermain Taylor asked the three-time world champion (note the
3-time JXL!!) to be his stepping stone to greatness.
"I respect him, but he's a stepping stone, and that's what I'm going to
use him for," said Taylor, who at 26 was 21-0 with 16 knockouts, and
ranked third in the world by three major boxing organizations. Joppy,
meanwhile, agreed to fight Taylor in his hometown because he though a
win over Taylor will be his ticket to boxing immortality. Promoter Lou
DiBella said the fight would probably be Taylor's last in Little Rock
for a while because if he beat Joppy, he'd graduate to fights against
top-tier middleweights like Oscar de la Hoya, Felix Trinidad and Bernard
Hopkins. After beating Joppy, following a splendid demolition of Raul
Marquez, the Olympic silver medallist is prime for the top tier, there
is NO better time than now for him to fight them. A top class amateur,
he is well-schooled and skilful, so fighting any opposition but the top
two would be detrimental to his career. The question was "Is he ready
for BH or TT?" The answer is a definite YES. Would he beat either of
them? Who knows, but the worst thing that could happen is he would lose,
and then have plenty of time to rebuild his career because he's still
young. Taylor seems a bright guy, boxing is full of learning curves, and
this would be an ideal one, at this ideal time, for Mr Bad
Intentions...."
|
Red:
"Turns out Im fighting two people instead of one here. The referee
appears to be taking my comments apart more so than my opponent. Anyway,
back to what I was saying, which looks to have gone OVERLOOKED, was that
Taylor should work his way up to the top rather than rushed and just put
there. Hopkins already has made a name for himself and for a Taylor vs
Hopkins fight to be made the early, you're only going to get "Hopkins vs
who?" quotes from the general public. Taylor isn't that big of a name
yet and even if he beat Hopkins he'd be another Danny Williams. No one
really paid more attention to him, why would they for Taylor? Taylor
should fight the 2nd rate guys out there who are pretty good as a matter
of fact and that would do him more justice. David Reid appeared ready
for Tito, he even won a few of the 1st rounds, but the tides changed and
so did his career as it went spiraling downward. You mention Taylor
being young enough to bounce back and rebuild, but a loss to a fighter
like Hopkins could damage him permanently from doing so. Tito did it to
Reid and he was never the same since. I wouldnt want that to happen to
Taylor who I expect to be around for a while."
|
Enzo
comes out for round 3 to possibly try and end the show. He snapped out a
power jab followed by 2 straight rights that connect and the cut on JXL
opens back up. JXL brings to mind some good factors in a loss to Hopkins
for Taylor, but the factors would be the same if they were to fight 1
year from now, or even 2. In any fight for that matter, vs. anyone could
be either opponents last fight whether it be career ending or life
itself. Sure if Taylor were to sustain that type of damage earlier in
his career rather than later it would cut his time boxing in the ring
short, but who's to say the fighters you mentioned he should fight 1st
couldn't inflict the same type of pain? Ouma and Wright are two that
jolt out of your list that strike me as possible career enders for a
young prospect who took either lightly. Not just Hopkins.
*10-9 Round to Blue* The doctor looks at
the cut, but lets JXL fight the final round.
|
|
- Round 4 - FINAL ROUND! |
Red: "Well, looks like Im going to need a knockout in this
fight and since Im not a quitter, here goes.
Taylor would better his career chances to not take on the best right
away simply because he isnt ready. He's not. I cant name a single prime
fighter other than Wright who Id say is ready for Hopkins. Taylor may
find it easier to get in with Tito 1st, but that's still too quickly,
and how disrespectful is that to Tito who has been around for so long
and just now coming out of retirement only to have a set match with yet
another Olympian who is still untested. Very if you ask me. Tito and
Hopkins are two of the greatest fighters to ever have lived in this
profession and Taylor isnt even in his prime yet. Lets get real here.
He's still a boy. Let him ripe by fighting tough guys like Santos and
Ouma 1st. Lets see what he does when he gets knocked down for the 1st
time. He should go down for the 1st time in a Hopkins fight because
that's when he wont know what to do. Yet if he were in a smaller type of
fight with not such a big name and he went down, I dont think the
anxiety would hit him as hard and he would have a chance to figure out
his problem to fix it. The Hopkins and Tito fights are too big for him
now. We dont even know what he'll do if he gets hit clean since he
hasnt. He hasnt even been in with big punchers. Marquez passed him prime
can hardly considered a puncher, and Joppy? Never been! Lets see if he
can take a punch first. Lets see if he can fix a puzzle 1st. If he can
figure out how to beat a fighter who has an early edge on him, then he's
ready. If he somehow happens to never lose an edge against any of those
2nd rate fighters, then he's ready."
|
Blue:
"Credit to you for sticking with it mate, you've obviously got a big
heart, but you've just repeated the same argument for the fourth time.
And why do you keep bringing up David Reid, because of the "Olympic
success" connection? Taylor is the world champion, so how can he not be
ready, should he keep taking tune-ups against world-class operators like
Joppy and Marquez, fight bums from outside the top 10, take on serious
contenders like Ouma and possibly lose, or face the top two NOW, when
he's at his best, his confidence is sky high and he has the
momentum.. And what makes you think Hopkins would KO him, his KO record
is not as great as your argument suggests.
Disrespectful to Tito if he fights him first? He just came back from
years off and beat up a chain-smoking lunatic who had been softened up
by Spinks. Tito is a great, but it would be no disgrace fighting Taylor,
how could it be? He has not been "hit clean so far" as you put it, so
what does that say about his technical ability and skill....I'm just
going to coast and showboat for the last minute because like my first
two fights, it's been one-sided, but congratulations for staying the
course, you're a true warrior JXL.......adios....ding ding"
|
JXL comes
out of the corner for the final round. He does have a big heart, but he
hasn't much stamina here. He's breathing very heavily. Guard up.
Enzo comes right out and lands a right hook under JXL's elbow to connect
for a brilliant body shot and DOOOOWWWN GOOOOES JXL! Enzo is right, JXL
has been repeating a similar argument in each round. Enzo's points are
separate and all on their mark. JXL is up on 8. "Step forward" says the
ref. JXL is incompliant with a heavy stream of blood pouring from the
cut opened in round 2 and the ref has seen enough. "Thats it!", It's all
over, here in the 4th and Final round!

-Round 1 - |
Blue: "For starters let me say that
both fighters possess bags of character in the heart department except
there are some crucial differences. Firstly Gatti has displayed heart in
fights and some he has won yet also some he has lost badly, Holyfield
has shown huge heart in both fights and in the way he has come roaring
back from seemingly catastrophic defeats to be reborn as the best
heavyweight in the world more than once. Another factor is that
Holyfield went through a pre-career disheartening experience when he was
DQ'd in Olympic competition his response? An unbeaten start to his pro
career which culminated in a fifteen round war with Dwight Qwai,
Holyfield swallowed his Olympic disappointment and emerged as the
outstanding fighter of his Olympic team. You cannot argue with his heart
after the way he came to the pro ranks under a cloud and ended up
fighting over fifteen rounds against, and let us not forgetting beating,
a world-class opponent en route to unifying and glamourising the leaden
cruiserweight division. Gatti's big heart has yet to see him reign as a
elite champ and nor has he beaten guys in elite company, his heart is
big but not big enough in comparison to 'Commander' Evander. Fifteen
round fights define heart as those 12-15th rounds are real tests of
character and Holyfield showed this character early in his career and if
we still his huge heart had more in store for us..."
|
Red: "Holyfield has a harder head that heart. His hard noggin
is the only thing that's kept him around so long. The ability to take a
punch from any heavyweight, including Tyson, does not rank him in the
elite of whole hearted. As for Gatti, not the best of chins, goes down,
gets up, fights with no eyes. Evander has yet to do any of those. With
the exception of the Bert Cooper fight, Evander has never gone down to
comeback and win. Never. That says a lot about heart when you comeback
like that. Evander's career turnaround was his knockout of Tyson, yet
this is a turn around how? Everyone beats Tyson. Especially the one post
prison time. Gatti has overcome the odds when Evander has overcome
lesser odds. Gatti will be bruised up badly, cut over both eyes and will
tell the fight doctor nothings wrong. Evander may not quit, but his
desire in moments like those arent even in comparison. Evander will
shake his head like something's wrong or just go back in the ring with
his guard up, not punching. If he gets a second wind, then he's lucky.
Gatti doesnt need second winds, he fights on no matter what, broken hand
(vs Ward II), or one eye (vs just about everyone). Evander's only big
willed fights are vs Cooper, vs Bowe I and II, and vs Foreman. No other
fight tested his heart. He continues to fight not because he has a big
heart, but rather a serious case of delusion."
|
Great round by both men!
Necko in his first fight since the big upset last month vs Rust Oleum,
starts off with some respect for his opponent, recognizing Gatti's big
heart. Chucky takes the opportunity to land an overhand right that
connects and sends Necko in retreat on the ropes. No respect shown from
Chucky as he takes Evander apart. Good knowledge of Evander's head/chin
being a factor of him still being around, let alone able to win the
fights he has. Necko boxes well off the ropes and regardless what anyone
says, a win over Tyson, post prison or not, is an accomplishment,
especially since he was unbeaten since his release until he met up with
Evander.
*10-9 Round to Red * Close round, but the
respect did Necko in for the right hand by Chuck!
|
|
- Round 2 - |
Red: "Ok, lets begin with Evander. What does make him appear
to have such heart? Surely it must be that he plods forward against all
his opponents and takes their shots. That must be it because thats all
he does. That's what makes his fights to entertaining, that he can take
a punch. Much like Mayorga on the chin. That must mean Mayorga has the
biggest heart too then. Add David Tua to that list for the matter since
he just wont go down, but he plod forward and tries really hard. That's
all Evander does. Heart is coming back to win, getting up when it
counts, overcoming the odds against you, fighting on with the worst
situations, no quitting, throw punches til the last bell, dig deep, have
no doubts. These all describe Gatti. Gatti's been through all that.
Evander hasnt. Even after his 1st fight with Moorer, he said after the
last bell he felt he could have done more. He didnt feel the energy to
fight until Moorers hands were rasied. That sounds like a beat fighter
before the fights over if you ask me. No heart to throw no matter what.
He didnt have to win the fight to be known as having a big heart, but
the lack of it showed when he was just too discouraged and tired to give
his best. As for Gatti, that never happens. He'll continue fighting no
matter what. For Gatti to tell Buddy McGirt his hand is broken, and
McGirt ask him what he wants him to do, Gatti replies "I gotta keep
fighting". That's the no excuse heart Im talking about. Never say never,
go out dying, as he's even said it himself. No discredit to Evander, who
just may die in the ring because he cant tell when to quit, but the
excuses of a bad heart and heart failure are just that. Excuses!"
|
Blue: "Obviously you are not a big boxing fan if you can
denigrate the magnificent achievements of Evander, also your conception
of, and argument for, heart is seriously flawed. You say Holyfield only
has a chin and gets hit too much and this is NOT heart then go on to say
Gatti comes forward getting hit a lot and therefore cut but this IS
heart, (or maybe stupidity). You are contradicting your own argument
there. Also you say that Gatti fights beyond minor injury and this
defines heart, well Holyfield had a misfunctioning left ventricle in his
HEART during fight with Moorer and carried on, now if that is not having
heart I do not know what could be. Also Holyfield fought through bad
patches v Dokes (one of the fights of that year), Holmes (Evander cut
against an all-time great, Gatti loses every time he gets near one),
Cooper (Holyfield out on his feet rallies to win), Bowe I (Holyfield out
on his feet against the peak Bowe and manages to rally in very same
round), Bowe II (comes back to beat bigger, stronger, younger man). So
Holyfield has shown heart within the fight situation against bigger men
(200+ lds) He has taken the heavier blows P4P against better fighters
and come back to achieve even more remarkable things. To me heart is
also shown outside the ring in how one responds to defeat and comes
back, Holyfield in his youthful days came back to beat Bowe AND Moorer.
Gatti lost firstly to King Solomon, never avenged, Angel Manfrady, never
avenged, TWICE to Ivan Robinson, never avenged and lost to Ward in the
fight that made both men but was not a highest level encounter...the one
he has had v De La Hoya he lost...and guess what he'll never avenge it.
Last part of your history lesson, check out Holyfields post-heart scare
comeback opponent, a prime Ray Mercer who was very well respected and
avoided, check out press about Tyson prior to Holyfield demolishing him
and the odds against Evander. Holyfield's heart has booked him a day out
at Canesota, Gatti is yet to show he can cut it at the rarified level.
Both men have heart, at least I can admit that without destroying my
flow, but it is Holyfield who has used his too drive him to the greater
achievements in the ring."
|
Big start by Chucky in
round 2. Good descriptions of Heart to land a nice right hand flush on
the chin, however Necko comes right back with a right hand of his own.
This one staggers Chucky. Chucky fights off the ropes and Necko is
taking him apart now. Necko lands a left hook to a ducking Chucky's
head. Good catch by Necko, which was the contradiction in Chuck's
argument. Gatti does come forward to get hit a lot in many of his
previous fights, more so than Evander. A perfect hook to the ribs
buckles Chucky and an uppercut send his head back and over the ropes.
The punch turns him around and Chucky falls to the canvas! It was the
losses Gatti's never avenged comment by Necko. The Count's at
"2.....3.....", he's up on 4 and....DING DING!
*10-8 Round to Blue *
|
|
- Round 3 - |
Blue: "Ok Chucky so you seem to operate on a simple equation,
Blood = Heart and use Gatti's bloodbath defeats to fulfill this equation
and win this bout. Well if Blood = Heart then let me remind you that
Evander Holyfield not only had to fight Mike Tyson when Mikey was still
feared by 98% of heavies but that Tyson clamped his teeth into
Holyfields flesh and bit a chunk out of his ear. HE BIT A CHUNK OUT OF
HIS EAR, we forget how serious that was/is. How did Evander respond? Up
until that point Tyson was having his best round and then did that,
after this Holyfield jumped into the air, grimaced and came flying back
at Tyson fists and head flying. Holyfield, as you will no doubt point
out, looked to the ref saw no help was forthcoming and tore into a guy
that had committed cannibalism upon his person knowing he could be hurt
even more. Holyfield fought with fire after watching a man spit part of
his ear onto the canvas. That is heart. How does Evander follow these
two huge fights, you know with him having no heart and all, he takes on
Moorer the man who tore his world apart and avenged a defeat (a feat
beyond Gatti until late in his Gatti's career). Then he gets a deserved
gimme v Bean and his next act of cowardice? He takes on Lennox 'Bigger,
fresher, stronger, harder hitting' Lewis in an act of big-hearted
nobleness after admitting through Lennox being ducked he had been given
a shot. Despite the draw result Holyfield was beaten up in that fight,
watch him in the post-fight conference hardly able to stand and having
assistance hitching his pants up, but again his reply? He agrees to a
rematch in which he comes close to beating the bigger man and comes
through some rocky rounds to rock Lennox. Not bad for a man with no
heart, oh I forgot that after his defeat v Lennox he came back and won a
portion of the title again, this guy has achieved so much with his heart
and will even I forget at times. Face it Holyfield is the bigger
man, has faced the better opponents, has achieved more through greater
hardship, all this by dint of him having a huge heart which drives him
constantly."
|
Red:
"Holyfield is only considered a "bigger" man because he's a
heavyweight. And lets face it, the heavyweights are the most desired
division. Everyone knows of him because he's in the division people
watch most, especially the non boxing fans. When they see an Evander
fight, they knew it was coming because they heard his name. When those
same people hear that Gatti is going to fight, they dont know who the
heck he is. When they actually see one of his fights, they go crazy and
cant wait to see him again and all say "I wish heavyweight fights were
like that". Having heart doesnt necessarily mean you're going to be
entertaining, but it certainly means you arent a dull fighter. Gatti has
been in more wars and 10 times the more dramatic situations than
Evander. Evander's never had to pull of something amazing, everyone
already thinks high of him before every fight. They expect him to win.
When you arent expected to win and win, that's much more amazing. When
you arent supposed to win, or the odds are against you and you upset
those odd's, it's because of a huge heart. That you werent willing to
let what everyone thought of you stand in your way. Gatti does that in
every fight, win or lose. Sure he hasnt avenged some losses. Do you need
to avenge a loss to show heart? It's what you do in the loss that shows
heart. You can go down 82 times in one fight and get up each and every
time to lose, but to hear the final bell mean you had some heart. In
fact, I think heart can be best described in a man's losses rather than
in his wins. A win is a win and is impressive, but the way you lose
really shows what kind of man you are. How you take it and what you take
it with. Sure winning performances are great, but a comeback win is what
determines heart, so those both describe every Gatti fight. His comeback
wins, or his heart filled efforts in his losses. In with Ivan Robinson
the 1st time, sure he was outworked and just about a beaten man, but he
gave everything he had in that final round and nearly dropped Ivan. The
fact that he never put his head down, and never walked out, but rather
gave his best shows what heart he has. Evander's done that in what, 2
fights?"

Big start
by Necko to begin round 3. He comes right out to see if Chucky is still
on uneasy senses with a straight right hand. Chucky ducks it with some
interesting facts, however seems to be off pace a bit with what seems
like a "Who Is The More Entertaining Fighter?" Fan Fight Topic rather
than the one at hand. Necko lands a big body shots that back Chuck into
the ropes. Good stats on Evander and calling heart on the rematch with
Moorer, "the man who took his world apart". Chucky does get back on pace
and fights off the ropes. Good points on heart being displayed best in a
fighters losses, avenged or not.
Close Round To Score, but Neckodeemus was on point from beginning to
end, whereas Chuck seems to trail off near the beginning.

- Round 4 - FINAL ROUND! |
Red: "Gatti has the bigger heart period. Evander doesnt keep
fighting because he has a big heart, but because he is delusional. Gatti
still has his brains, Evander doesnt quit have it all up there. Gatti is
a reigning champ at the moment, Evander is being held back by several
people that want him to quit. If he had a bigger heart, he would realize
he doesnt have it in him to continue. That takes heart. To realize when
your in the wrong, or to realize it's over. Not just common sense, but
it tae a huge heart to look an opponent in the eye and say "You know
what, you beat me. You won and I lost." Evander wont do that. His ego is
too big for that. Sure, he has a bigger Ego than Gatti, but not a bigger
heart. Heart is displayed with gratitude and respect towards an opponent
also. Evander shows disrespect in fights he's lost that he thinks he
should have won. He wont accept defeat, not because he has a big heart,
but because he actually thinks he won certain fights that werent awarded
to him. Even ones that were, like vs Ruiz, fights he should have lost,
he says he won without a doubt. You know what would be considered the
biggest heart? When the winner of a wrongfully scored fight gives the
belt to the loser, or admits defeat. Gatti has admitted defeat. Evander
barely called Toney's one sided win a beating and thought it was close.
Close enough that he could comeback and fight again, and again and
again. Delusion doesnt = Heart!
And another thing, I never said Evander didnt have heart at all, just
not the size of Gatti's. However, I really do believe that Evander's
chin and ability to take the best of shots consider people to mistake
that for heart."

Blue:
"Once again Chucky your assertion that Holyfield has never done
anything special hints at your lack of boxing knowledge. Holding the
undisputed championship isn't special when coming back from heart
problems? Which undisputed belt does Gatti hold? None. Which one has his
big heart won him previously? None. Holyfield has never had to do
anything amazing? Are you on crack? He won the undisputed title from
Tyson when many thought he should retire or face dying in the ring, that
is amazing plus it was not expected. To be sure in your ability when
others are writing you off, that is heart, Holy was almost as big an
outsider as Buster Douglas was going into his win over Tyson. You say
heart is shown in losses? That is right as Holyfield absorbs the lessons
from a loss and comes back even stronger to scale greater achievements,
a feat until recently beyond Gatti. You must be punch drunk to deny
saying Holyfield as heart then in the next breath say his chin is
mistaken for heart. Let me break it down again by saying that Holyfield
has huge desire to reclaim his crown and desire is spurred by heart,
even though he must know he is destroying his legacy he goes on with
fights against lesser men. Holyfield's heart is so big it is overruling
his brain and it will not let him stop trying to regain his former
glory...it is becoming tragic. Also Holyfield has been through the
most heart-breaking experience possible...36 rounds with John
Ruiz/Louise in order to get his belts back, now that takes 100% heart,
some people break after watching Ruiz fight just one round. Gatti is
already amending his style to avoid any gruelling fights and talking
beyond boxing, Holyfield cannot as his heart just continues to fuel his
desire and drive him onwards, only a broken heart will stop him and at
this stage we are having to try and ban him from the ring to protect him
as the man does not know the word 'Quit' that is what defines him and
raises him above Gatti in terms of heart. Sorry Chucky but you've
contradicted yourself too many times and it seems you barely even know
the truth of 'Commander' Evander and why fans love him, if heart is
knowing when you are fairly beaten then you are lacking...maybe that is
why your definition is flawed. Holyfield like a great warrior is
prepared to go out on his shield that is why his heart is big and this
is why we the fans love him."

A great 4th and final
round by both men here as they go toe to toe at the center of the ring.
Interesting side to "heart" by Chuck. Admittance and acceptance to a
loss does take heart. There is a difference between having "Balls" and
having "Heart" and I think that's a good description that differs those
two easily. But right back comes Necko with his views on "Heart" and
yes, to take on Ruiz not once, not twice, but three times after 2
horrible fights has got to take some heart to get back in there. It's
got to take heart just to watch all 3.

Neckodeemus, you're back with a big win here. What are your plans from
here?
Neckdeemus:
"First off let me say that my opponent has been taught a valuable
lesson in respecting boxing history...though he was gifted the first
round and should have lost by a shutout. Four rounds with Neckodeemus
will teach him a lot. Secondly I am sending out a message to the
'Village Idiots Association of America (chairman George W. Bush)' to get
in contact with that fool (K)Rusty the clown as he knows, I know and
others know he was lucky that our fight was judged by Mr. Magoo and the
decision to him was a gift by people who sleep with photo's of Tito
Trinidad by their bedside...I'll save Enzo for a later date if he'll
come out of the valleys to take me on. I'm number one on fan fight after
showing character to come back from defeat. ;)"

Chucky T,
the knockdown hurt you in the scores, but you came back in a close
fought battle. What are you thoughts?
Chucky T: "Ill be back. I felt I did enough to win that last
round which was scored a draw and that would have put me behind by 1
point, so without that ruled knockdown that was actually a slip I would
have won, but he better be ready for a rematch." |
