Butterbean's 15 Minutes Of Fame Wearing Thin

Pulls Out Of Xcess Fighting's Debut Card

By “Hail”Cesar Garcia

Weights are in for Xcess Fighting Debut card and all fighters were on weight (one had to lose ¾ of a pound, and did), but the one fighter that never had to worry about his weight and main event attraction, Butterbean was nowhere to be found and instead will be replaced by the man who’s made a career of being a last second replacement, Ruben “Warpath” Villareal.

“I was originally supposed to fight Mark Kerr but I had to drop out because of personal obligations, but I took care of those and when I was called I was ready, so I took it,” Warpath told Pound4Pound.

“I can only speculate that he saw Jimmy and... he got Titanitis,” said promoter Bruce Bellocchi about Butterbean, and hinted that perhaps Butterbean thought twice about facing long time veteran Jimmy ‘The Titan’ Ambriz. “There were things on his calendar that suddenly conflicted, we were giving him everything he wanted but he basically got cold feet” Then Bellocchi put out an offer in hopes of luring Butterbean. “But I do put out an offer to Butterbean to fight Ambriz, $20,000 winner take all.”

Another name fighter that was supposed to fight, Tiki Ghosn, still had no opponent as of weigh-in time but is still a possibility as opponents are still being sought.

Former boxing heavyweight champ Riddick Bowe was on hand to show support.
